Pastor Douglas D. Tate Jr. is a native of Indianapolis, In, where he received is education in the public school system. He received Christ and was baptized July 1969 at St. Paul Baptist Indianapolis. Pastor Tate Jr. has been married 27 years to his devoted wife, Bernice B. Tate and has 4 adult children and 9 grandchildren. His parents are the late Pastor Emeritus Douglas D. Sr., and Virginia M. Tate.

Rev. Tate Jr followed in his father's trade and attended the Indiana Barbering College to become a licensed barber where he worked in the family business, Tate's Barbershop located in the Haughville Community. He has been the Owner & Manager since 1985. Rev. Douglas D Tate Jr. accepted God's call to the ministry on July 19,1986 and was ordained in 1997. Rev Tate Jr joined the Psalms Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Superintendent of Education and Associate Pastor. In April 2001, he was installed and currently is the third Pastor of Psalms Missionary Baptist Church.

Rev Tate Jr. achieved his Bachelor of Theology Degree at the Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Indianapolis in 1996 and later achieved his Bachelor of Art- Religious Studies Degree from Martin University, Indianapolis in 2012. He also has a Certificate of Completion, from the Leadership for Development Christian Theological School. Rev Tate Jr. has been a part of the Center for Congregation Workshops since 2000 and has been a member of the General Association of Kentucky Baptist Pastor's Conference since 1996.

Award (Indianapolis Commission of AA Males) 1987, and Founder and President of Westside Concern Dads Organization 1987
